Today your team presented the MTA Sunshine proposal for the 2014-2015 collective bargaining sessions. This document can be found below. Much of this was informed by our survey. Some issues have arisen since school began in August, however. Your team hopes to alleviate some of these concerns via the bargaining process.
Additional information has been forwarded to our CTA representative. Her analysis will help to further clarify your team's position as we begin to negotiate. An initial meeting has not yet been established but we are hoping to begin in early November. We have agreed to consider a limit on the number of articles that can be brought to the table in the future. This has been the tradition in negotiations but has not been recent practice. Experience has demonstrated that a CBA (Collective Bargaining Agreement - contract) completely open to discussion every year results in protracted negotiating that proves frustrating for both sides. It has also been past practice to establish a periodic year when all articles are open. This will also enter into our discussion.
