Joint Communique from MTA and MUSD February 16, 2016
February 16, 2016
The teams met for the first bargaining session on February 16, 2016 for a full day of bargaining. We began by establishing team norms. We discussed Article 11 Hours. We tentatively agreed to revise language in 11.9 to re-designate one current minimum day as an additional parent conference day.
The teams reached tentative agreement on a two-year calendar for the 2016-17 and 2017-18 school years increasing the work year from 184 days to 186 days. The two additional days are designated as mandatory professional development. 184 day contracted teachers will be paid at the teacher’s per diem rate of pay for each day. This equates to a 1.08% increase on the salary schedule for the 2016-17 and the 2017-18 school years only.
MTA Bargaining Unit Members will be voting to ratify the attached calendars prior to the end of the month.
We scheduled two additional bargaining sessions on March 2nd and March 15th.
