Your Team returned to the bargaining table this morning. It might be accurate to say the day was notable for what did not happen. Unlike our very frustrating previous session, we did not take a step backward. Although major issues remain in dispute, a strategy to help work toward resolution was employed. Management added a consulting attorney to their team; he join the discussion at the table. Today. the Association requested clarifying documents regarding management's contention of "illegal" language in our collective bargaining agreement. These were promised and we will forward them to our CTA representative for consultation with other attorneys.
Additionally, management did not file for a determination of impasse with the state Public Employee Relation Board. We have agreed to return to the table on June 22.
We are all in hopes of reaching a tentative agreement but will keep our promise to you: We will represent your interests without hesitation or equivocation.
